Human Remains Found in Northern Saskatchewan
- EFN Staff | November 27, 2013
RCMP from the La Ronge detachment have discovered human remains near Sucker River.
Today at approximately 10:30 a.m., a search team of RCMP members from the La Ronge Detachment and residents of the Sucker River were conducting a ground search near the community in hopes of locating Jodi Roberts, who was reported missing by her family on November 6, 2013. Searchers were focusing on this area because an article of clothing had been found in the area by a member of the public and turned over to police. This was an unusual location for clothing to be located; therefore, a search of the area was conducted.
The search has resulted in the discovery of human remains several kilometers from Sucker River. The identification of the deceased has not been confirmed and an autopsy will be conducted in Saskatoon on Monday.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the RCMP Major Crime Unit - North. Anyone with information is asked to call the La Ronge RCMP at (306) 425-6730 or Crime Stoppers.
