Survival documentary series looking for participants
- EFN Staff | June 13, 2016
If you think you have the survival skills to travel like 16th century fur traders, or to lead such an excursion, a new series on Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is looking for you.
A new survival documentary series called Merchants of the Wild (MOTW) is holding a casting call for participants as well as Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
It's an opportunity for 6 First Nations, Metis, or Inuit participants to fly to Northern Ontario and learn to survive and travel as 16th century fur traders, being taught by talented Elders and Knowledge Keepers in culture, history, and traditional skills.
Recreating 16th century fur trade routes of the Oji-Cree, MOTW sends six modern adventurers on a stunning journey into the past.
Send casting@merchantsofthewild.com a short 30 to 60 second video of who you are, your knowledge of traditional living, and why you should be on the show. It's a bonus if you're able to speak Oji-Cree, but not essential. Deadline for submissions is June 30.
See below for more details. Good luck!
