Bannock, La Gallette
- Jan LaFournaise
- 4 C flour
- 4 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp butter, lard, or margarine
- 2 C milk or water
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add butter, large, or margarine, mixing well.
Add milk or water, a little at a time. Gently work dough but dont overwork.
Place on a greased cookie sheet and shape into an oval. Bake in the middle of the oven at 450 F for 20 minutes or so, checking frequently to prevent burning.
Tilt on its side to let moisture escape after removing from oven.
