Summer Games 2015 profile: Tessa Desnomie

Tessa Desnomie, 13-year-old athlete from Peepeekeesis First Nation, is playing softball with File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) in this year’s summer games held in Ochapowace First Nation.
This is Tessa’s first year competing in the annual summer event and says she liking her experience so far.
“I like playing the game, having fun and meeting new people,” she says.
Tessa has been playing the sport since she was five-years-old and has always been athletic growing up.
“I like playing hockey and volleyball. Anything just to play outside,” says Tessa.
Tessa looks up to her aunty Vera Tourangeau as she played the First Canadians as a pitcher in 1982-83.
After she graduates high school, Tessa would like to play college ball. In order to follow her dreams, she follows advice that she receives and hopes to inspire others through her words.
“Keep trying, do your best, just have fun and you can do [anything].”
