BHP Billiton donates Jaws of Life to LeRoy & District Fire Department

BHP Billiton has donated of a set of Jaws of Life to the LeRoy & District Fire Department.
Giles Hellyer, the head of BHP Billiton Potash, said the company was pleased to donate such an essential piece of emergency response equipment for the area through its Community Development Program.
“Safety is a core principle of everything that we do at BHP Billiton. The Jaws of Life not only provides support for our activities in the upcoming years at the Jansen Project but more importantly, provides more immediate access to this equipment to residents in the local area.” said Hellyer.
Paul Cockell, Fire Chief of the LeRoy & District Fire Department said: “This increases our rescue capabilities immeasurably and response times for those in need will be reduced dramatically. This is another great step towards a long and promising partnership between BHP Billiton and LeRoy Emergency Services.”
BHP Billiton’s Jansen Potash Project is situated about 11km from Town of LeRoy.
