Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire, Lanford Montgrand, hit big on the Smoke Signals jackpot, winning a total of $1,573,777.82. Montgrand walked into Dakota Dunes Casino the evening of Monday, November 8, 2021, and won the top tier progressive jackpot at Smoke Signals. This is the second time that Montgrand has won a jackpot. He recently won The Dreamer Jackpot in August this year at Dakota Dunes Casino for the amount of $64,550.45.
Lanford Montgrand is originally from La Loche and is now residing in Regina, and when asked about his win this time indicated in a press release that, “I didn’t want to be all cliche and say I’m just a typical small-town boy with big dreams, but I literally didn’t come from much. I’m very thankful, grateful, fortunate, lucky and I was just at the right place at the right time. I know it’s a life changing win as long as it’s used wisely, which will happen because I like to think I have a good head on my shoulders from the way I was raised. Lastly, don’t worry Mom and Dad it’s going to pay off dealing with me in my younger years.”
Montgrand was awarded the cheque in an official cheque ceremony at Dakota Dunes on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from SIGA President & CEO Zane Hansen.
“On behalf of SIGA’s Board of Directors, management and staff, I would like to congratulate Lanford Montgrand on becoming the newest Smoke Signals progressive winner, and on this impressive second jackpot win this year,” said SIGA President Zane Hansen.
Acting General Manager at Dakota Dunes Casino, Charles Ryder, also congratulated the recipient. “Thank you to our latest Dakota Dunes Casino millionaire, Lanford Montgrand. Congratulations and enjoy your winnings.”
